Hmmm. It was a matter of time. Watch them show up on the street roddy cars now that you can get em new.

After hearing about the problems with Speedway's steering parts, I'll be interested in seeing how these hold up

You know it'll be interesting, in 20 years or so, to see if cars built today with "over seas" traditional parts, (carbs, now wishbones, frame rails, etc) hold up. I'm guessing the original stuff that has already been here for 50 years will, I wonder how much "new" stuff is going to be rusted, cracked, broken junk by then.
I know there are other companies making new wishbones as well.

I'd rather spend $40 on a real one and split it myself than the $300 for a pair they are asking. Thats just stupid...

P.S. they are already using bones on street roddy cars. The "Speed 33" that Goodguys is giving away has split wishbones on it.

I wonder if those ports are sleeved? Some of those ports are huge. Interesting.

Speedway scares me. I'll be watching this one. Still cheaper to buy originals, but I guess if these are a quality product, it's not a terrible idea if you're the type that doesn't like to cut up old stuff. (count me out of that catagory)

speedway isn't the first company to start re-popping these. there was an article in street rodder about a year or so ago about a company making them out of stainless steel so you could polish them. i think they were out of vegas but i couldn't find them.

Hell I have a set that are pitted some that was split for a trailer but would be perfect for a hot rod I bet I can beat $300 on them even $40 if someone wants to pick them up or pay shipping .:D

Sadly, some guys have these things stacked up like cord wood just rotting away.

$300 does seem like foolish money to spend for they are certainly out there to be had for under $100.

Single year units like ('32) will always bring more money, but overall they are one of the cheaper parts to get if you are going the split bone route.

They look good but I'll keep swap meetin for $300. Hope these don't make the original ones go up in price...

  17. i wonder why they chose to repo the `37-`41 style when those are still very available at reasonable prices. if i was to repo and try to sell some Ford bones they would be `32-`34

They don't look too bad without the holes, but I already have several sets of stockers, so the real ones can't be that hard to find. And the gennies weren't even made by Chinamen.

Looks to me like they corrected the camber issues with them. No need to pie cut them. And already smoothed off the front spring perches too. Bungs are already in. There is some time savings there. Not worth the $$ to me for a personal car but from a shop owner view it would save some trouble. No need to hunt down parts and clean/cut/prep/weld/repair/etc. Never mind rot from the inside factors. Anyone who's split a set knows what I mean there (you desert guys have it made). And if they are quality then they will sell. I'm not a fan of lightening holed bones in any sense. And I've seen those done with and without sleeves on FORD bones and still shutter. If I liked the quality, and the customer wasn't picky about old ford parts only, I might use them on a shop build.

That will only drive up the price of originals. Henry knew what he was making.

    You mean CASTER, not camber.

  23. I think you are correct, especially when they are the same price as the ones without holes...

I remember this too, They were repopping '32 style front wishbones (split and unsplit) and I think they wanted something ridiculous, like around $700-900 for a pair. The company was called Industrial Metal Craft. They used to have a website, but I can no longer find it.

I wonder why they don't charge more for the ones with holes?

If you didn't have wishbones to start with and a bunch of hole saws those $300 ones might be less expensive than buying them off of e-bay then buying all of the different sized hole saws to drill the holes....

Wouldn't make much sense to make them 2". Don't know for a fact, but logically they'd be 2 1/4" and applicable to the 2" boss with a spacer.
