New with a hot rod boat

Hi. I am new to the forum. I have a 1955 Cadillac 331 race engine with 15:1 compression and a McCullogh supercharger not hooked up yet. I’m looking for information on a vs56. Also, am I crazy to try hooking the supercharger up? By the way this is all in a 1955 Besotes race boat originally owned by Henry Kaiser.

Speaking from hot rod experience, I've never heard of a blown engine that runs 15:1 compression ratio.

Others may disagree.
