I may be selling a knocked down Model T Ford ch***is to England. It would be two crates, engine, wheels, and related parts in one and ch***is and axles in the other. What kind of paperwork problems will I be facing. What is the cheapest carrier to use? People do this every day can't be too much of a problem. Thanks for your help.
i sold a motor and trans complet with everything. its being shipped to sweden from so-cal. the guy in sweden took care of all the paper work. all i had to do was just drop it off at the shipping co. near me. it's a big h***le building a crate and getting everything ready to ship. i don't think i would do it again unless it was a small items.
Not sure where you plan to ship out of....east or west? it would be easier for your UK buyer to arrange the frame & other parts to be included in one of the many containers headed for the UK from the U.S. He can post a request on the UK NSRA site & would be sure to come up with something. Not sure on the paperwork details regarding frames but vehicles must have a clear ***le before they can be shipped, other than that most of the paperwork should be done this side! Hope that helps.
G***er has shipped a couple of cars as well as numerous parts out of the NE USA, he would be the man to speak to.I know he browses through here fairly regularily....I drop him an E mail in the meantime to draw it to his attention.
Thanks for the info so far. I know there are guys that fill up a container with parts around Hershey time, just have to connect with one of them.
