I've been lurking the HAMB for a while. A whole lot of great info posted here guys. My interest in cars started as a child in the late 50's. I remember it well, and kind of get a chuckle out of some of the many ideas of what some consider "traditional" these days. I was into drag racing in the late 60's to mid 70's. Stock, super stock, MP and C/D. From there, I was active in the start of econo-rail. When pro "econo" teams ruined that with $30K "econo" rigs (in early 70's dollars) I quit racing. My occupation involved various auto related businesses for about 25 years. Upholstery & tops, paint & body, restorations, various......burned out finally. I've been away from it for 10 years or so, took up woodworking, tournament fishing, just looking for anything different. I fix up old houses now for a living, play guitar and tinker with old guitar stuff. But the thing is, once you have cars in your blood, it never goes away. So, as retirement grows nearer, I'm looking to start building some cars for myself that I always wanted, no customers, just for me. So, here I am poking around the HAMB.
Welcome Rick, I don't know if i've been around long enough to welcome anyone. As far as chuckle, I get a good laugh! Todays Traditional & Rodent rods are just the new trends. You know what I mean.
