I'm Jeremy. I've been into hot rods for as long as I've had any interest in cars, and they were one of the main reasons why I even got into cars. That said, I don't drive a traditional hot rod, and I never have. My previous vehicles have been newer, up until about 6 months ago when I wrecked my car and bought a 1968 VW Beetle. Always been a fan of aircooled VWs, though I much prefer earlier years, this was what was available. It's going through some changes, and it'll continue to get better. It's on its way to look like an earlier model by swapping out the two front fenders, headlights and tail lights, and a few other tidbits. So far, I've narrowed the front axle, lowered it, swapped out the exhaust, and a few other tidbits here and there. I'm learning all of this as I go along -- auto mechanics as well as metal fabrication. In the end I'd like to swap the motor as well, though it'll still be aircooled, just to the tune of an extra litre, hotter cam, etc, etc... It ain't "traditional," but that doesn't negate my interest in traditional hot rods. But it's fun to drive, and it's my little hot rod. It just can't keep up with the bigger hot rods, that's all. At least, for now.
