Greetings, Came across this forum while looking for info on paint and liked the style immediatly. I have a 49 Ford business coupe I bought a couple years ago, I always loved the style of the early 50's Fords and Mercs so I couldn't resist buying one when it was down the street from my house. It looks nice from 30 feet but is in rough shape so I was planning on hot rodding it. I was planning on documenting the progress and putting it on my currently empty site, http://www.shoeboxjoe.com I'm still torn however in keeping the flathead or swapping in a fuel injected 302. Any thoughts? Below are some pics of how the car sits currently http://www.shoeboxjoe.com/images/49ford01.jpg http://www.shoeboxjoe.com/images/49ford02.jpg http://www.shoeboxjoe.com/images/49ford03.jpg http://www.shoeboxjoe.com/images/49ford04.jpg - Joe
Welcome shoebox Joe, Car looks really good from the pics you posted. Keep the Flathead! You'll be glad you did. Any idiot can buy a 302 but the flathead has soul! First thing I would do is lower it and throw some speed parts on the flathead. Great Project, keep us posted.
Welcome from the North! Looks nice to me, I don't know about you calling it "rough" Keep us updated, and when your site is up and running, put it in your signiture line here so we can find it
Looks like I'm keeping the flathead. I'll have to get the site up and running and dive into the car this weekend.
Sell the Flattie. .......to me HEH HEH!! I got a 302 and so does everyone else. Flatties are TITS. Welcome form Kermit in Oconomowoc.
