Hi everyone,I'm from Oregon. I grew up in a body shop my dad was forty years in it,body/paint. I started out customizing cars in high school with a friend. I was amazed at the stuff I could do with an acetylene torch. We chopped my friend's '48 plymouth cpe. windows to five inches(the legal limit in Ore. at the time),we channeled it,customized the body extensively. We worked on all the kids' cars from school frenching head lights, tail lights, lowering, etc. It gave us money to work on our own cars. I had a custom '47 Plymouth convertible. We were old school Mopar guys in the fifties... I recently became challenged. I started a custom project on a '70 Challenger.I have stripped it to bare metal, gutted it and replaced the floors, and the lower rear quarters. I am presently repairing any rusty areas it has. I plan to smooth it. No chrome,no door handles, antennas, gas flaps, etc.I will guarantee you that it will be low fat and mean looking when it's finished. I found this site reading a thread on the internet by one of your members and it was on the 440 engine. Very well done and informative. I am using a 440 with a four speed in the Challenger. It is a factory floor shift car. Anyway that's what I'm up to and I want to say you have a great site here. I will try not to be a pest, but I am sure I will have some questions for some of you as I get into this project a little further. Thanks.
