Want to pick up some cheater slicks for my full-fendered 29 Coupe. The tire sizes are a little confusing to me. I'm sure my fellow hamb-ers can help me out. Radir's: Listed as 8.20-15. Is the "8.20" the tread-width in inches? What about tire diameter. Stockton Wheel: Listed as 27X9.5R-15. Is the "27" the tire diameter? What is the 9.5R? Also, what about the "cross section". Is this refering to the overall width of the tire? Wall to Wall? I'm open to size recommendations too. Thanks for the help! -Jeremy
Yes, tread is 8.2" those are 29" tall. They have specs a little further down on the page. Yep, 27" diameter on those... the 9.5 should be the cross section width, which is the true width of the tire at the widest point on the sidewall while mounted on the suggested rim size.
Anyone running cheater slicks on the back of their full-fendered Model A's? Looking for recommended sizes. Thanks!

Do you have a hard rubber compound on slicks ? I 'am building 60's type dragster and want the smoke without the traction? thanks Howard
You can't expect a recapped radial to hook up any better than the slicks of the old days, even if they glue the softest compound on them.
Trust me, with Hursts, you WILL spin them on a digger. My T lights em up at will. Ryans 38 is downright nasty churnin them things.
