Glad to be here. My 25 year old son and I are in the process (just starting) of building a flathead for his period-correct T project. I look forward to learning as much as I can because flatheads, even though a little long in the tooth, are new to me! I have built modified street machines in my checkered past, and rebuilt a few engines. This flathead world looks to be a challenge!
Welcome from Yucaipa, Ca. Nothings better than a father and son project. You guys have come to the right place, plenty of people here to help.
There's a wealth of Flathead knowledge on this board. I also bet if you ask around that area of East Tennessee you'll find a few old stock car builders and pilots with a lot of expertise. I grew up in that area ('till I was 12yrs. old) and there were dozens of Flathead powered stock cars around Knoxville, Morristown, Johnson City, Dandridge and Newport racing on dirt ovals well into the 60's. Gotta be alot of stuff still stashed in barns and garages. Anyway, good luck and welcome.
