Hi all. I have just discovered the H.A.M.B and I am glad I did ! The standard and diversity of the information is fantastic. It has got me re-enthused about a pastime that I previously pursued with a genuine passion, but I have been out of in recent years. More recently I have been into wooden boats, both building and restoring and the current project is a 1947 Chris Craft Sedan. I was blown away to see exactly the same model in a recent post. These boats borrow very heavily on automotive design of the era and the Sedan used contemporary steering wheels, car like dash layouts, interiors and windscreens. The engine is a big ol straight six, probably of Chrysler origin, about 320 cubic inches and about 130 horsepower. My Sedan will follow the resto rod philosophy with modern engine and transmission, automotive heater and slightly amended interior trim. I have rebuilt the bottom frames slightly stronger to accommodate for a modest increase in torque and horsepower. Building wooden boat bottom frames is very much like woody timber structures in cars and thats how I plan to get back on the road with a project as soon as possible. Thanks again for all the great information and keep up the good work. Cheers Mark
