I'm far from new to the world of Hot Rods. Been building and racing cars all my life. Just been more of Street Machine kinda guy. Having owned and raced multiple A, and G Body GM's through the years. Everything from a Big Block Chevy powered Malibu wagon, to a 9 sec Pro/Street Grand National. I recently moved from the Midwest to AZ, And I've been like a kid in a candy store down here. With rust free sheetmetal around every corner, I've been spending more time buying, than building lately...lol. I stumbled on this site wile researching a custom 40 Ford made into a 3 window, to look like a Willy's body that I bought off of eBay seller (meglite) who has the Mura Bros. 41 Willys pickup. So I figured I'd join up, and add my list of projects wile I was at it. My current list includes 1940 Ford 1957 2Dr 150 Wagon 1959 Buick Invicta 4dr HT 1967 Cadillac DeVille Convertible 1967 Mercury Park Lane Breezeway (Q Code 428) 1973 Gran Torino Sport (Q code 351c 4V Fastback) 1977 Oldsmobile Cutl*** Salon 1977 Oldsmobile Cutl*** 442 1977 Buick Century Special 1982 Chrysler Imperial (Frank Sinatra Edition)
Welcome from Northern Cal. Looks like "you got it" bad like the rest of us. Great collection...Can't pick a favorite.
I lived in Pheonix for a while, Welcome for VA. AZ is still one of my favorite places to travel to when I need a mental break
just pace your self on buying-up the rust free toys out here ... Glendale AZ .. is starting to be a real town...they will soon have laws about owning too many cars on your property..and you already have to smog them .... i don't have to yet ... i'm 10 miles south of Florence ,, and so far that's the new line for smog certs.. but it's creeping up on me .. I wish i could buy up all the old iron since i'm sitting on 2 acres ..
I'm lucky that I have a friend with a towing company, I work for him part time to cover my rent in his yard. Maybe unlucky in the sense I have to much space...lol. I keep my cars registered under collector car status, so that eliminates any emissions too. Since my last post, I sold the 77 Cutl*** Salon, But found a 68 Lincoln Continental, and a 73 Thunderbird, along with a 71 Coupe DeVille for my step son, and a 78 Grand Marquis for my other step son (though he finally admitted is to big for his first car, so it's for sale...lol)
yup, Az is one of the most tempting places one with Car Acquisition Syndrome can move...welcome to the site and the state!
Welcome from yet another currently residing in AR, but orignally from AZ. the H.A.M.B is a great place.
