Hi All, Been lurking for awhile; this is my first post. Learned about the HAMB from the guys in the illegal soapbox racing scene. We quit that when the guy got killed on Reseda course. My son still has his SFVISBF leather jacket, though. Went through the nostalgia drag racing thing with a 55 Chevy since my brother was a Ford man. Did the usual, change out the six for a 350/350 combo. Mechanical work was fun but didn't want to spend the $$$$ for interior and paint. I think its all about doing it yourself not throwing money at someone else to do the work. Wife and neighbors very touchy about fumes so can't paint in the driveway like we used to do back when. Had a kid and lost my job so sold the Chevy. Now 20 years later I'm teaching my son about working on cars. We have a 72 Comet, gift from a relative. My son is learning about the finer points of cleaning parts, busted knuckles, torque wrenches, smelly old bad gas, etc. BigR
