I have been lurking for the last year, just laying back and reading and learning. I am pretty new to the traditional rod scene. I use to be big into 60's chevy muscle cars, then switched to Toyota Land Cruisers. I built a few cruisers and mini trucks with my brother for hard core rock crawling. Then I moved from Rapid City, SD to Las Vegas, NV and my brother bought a 29' sedan and he started building that and talking to me about his build. Last year he came down here to Vegas to go to Viva and I tagged along and have been hooked ever since then. I did a lot of picture looking, trying to find the look and car I wanted to build. Then last fall I found a 30'-31' model A coupe body and made the move and bought it. So now I am trying to sell off my Toyota parts to make room and funds to start the coupe build. I have bought some parts, 3x2 rochester intake set up and Cal-Custom valve covers for the SBC & TH350 my brother is giving me, vertex magneto is in the works. I am looking to put this body on 32' rails with a 32' radiator shell (my brother is also giving me the shell). So hopefully in the next year I can get a roller setting in my garage and not a pile of Toyota parts.
Welcome from another Vegas transplant...there's a good group of us here that have the traditional addiction. We meet Sat. AM & PM at a couple of locations. Trop. & Mtn. Vista doughnut shop early Sat's is a good start...
Welcome to the board, my bro {jimmyfromhell} and I are from Gillette Wy, just down the road from your old stompin grounds in Rapid City!!
