Hi! I registered last month and have been watching for a while so it's time to introduce myself. I just turned 59 years old and have been in and out of the hot rod hobby for 43 of them. At 16 I found a beautiful stock 1940 Ford Deluxe coupe for $275 that had been stored for 4 years (1959 to 1963). I put a mild flathead in it and them a 348 Chevy with factory triples and a 4-speed. Sold it to go to college. But I never got rid of the fltahead engine and dragged the motor all over the USA as life went on.

I recently finished a 1935 Ford woodie and used that old flathead, freshened up with a Merc. 4" crank and the Thickstun 2-carb setup. Pretty stock on the outside but she hums right along!!! Hopefull the engine pics are attached here.

I'm now dreaming of building a '32 hiboy with a nailhead and a Tremec 5-speed. I've got the motor and a '66 Skylark GS bell housing so far! The frame and body I'm still hunting for. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions in the future!!

Here's a picture of the woodie. Spent it's life deliveriing eggs on a chicken farm near Hartford, CT. I found it on Cape Cod 10 years ago in need of a little TLC. Rebuilt the body and dropped in the 59A with 8RT heads after the old 21 stud let go.

Still 6 Volts and still mechanical brakes. I have completely rebuilt the brakes. Oh yeah, a Posies reversed eye front spring.

Sorry about the flowers on the rear view mirrors. I was taking a bride to church that day! She didn't mind the sound of the Smithies.

Welcome to HAMB world my friend. If you ever wanna take a bit of a ride- feel free to stop on by our shop in Woburn and introduce yourself! Saturdays are usually a 'anyone can stop by' day.
When we have our next open house (soon- need the snow all gone) you can bring your ride too.

NIce pics by the way- some day my 60 Olds will be done... Aah I can only dream for another couple of months- paying jobs first I always say!
