Hi everybody. My name is Doug, from NC and I am 39. I've never had any kind of project car but have always dreamed of a muscle car era convertible or even a late 40's or early 50's pu to use as a driver. I know, I know not really the forum for such but....... I recently was able to talk my dad out of some spare parts lying around his place. I am still working on trying to get his complete 34 ford pu. Started searching the net to plan out my build to find H.A.M.B. This site rocks.... The spare parts he is giving me are: model a chassis, 34 ford pu cab, and bed sides. He also has a complete 40 merc minus chassis and body (my little brother has turned it into a hot rod). A couple of flat head's (v6's,v8's), 2 complete early 50's studebakers, 2 complete 74 pintos, 40 ford pu cab, corvair engine and frt suspension, la salle 2 spd. rear end. Now here is where I would like some help with suggestions, comments, etc. I plan to box the a frame, mount the 34 pu cab and channel it, and use the 40 merc frt suspension (mayb entire drivetrain), add the 34 bed sides and fab the rest of the bed from scratch. here's the catch...I don't want to spend much money unless I have to. what do you think.....
