Allways been interested in old cars and pickups, the older the better. From reading through old post, I figured out that I'm probably getting a late start because I've grown up in New Orleans, LA where there isn't much of a car scene. My father is pretty handy, we always worked on our own cars, but that was out of necessity. There were no serious modifications or anything like that. I went off to college in a small rural town where I watched guys pour money into their trucks and decided I would go ahead and start up my project as soon as I had a place to work on it. Well I moved back down to New Orleans and bought a flooded house with the biggest garage that can be found uptown. When I'm not studying medicine at LSU, I'm scouring the internet for parts and ideas to build my dream truck. Its a 1931 Ford Model AA 157" dual wheeled quad cab pickup. I got the ch***is and a 1976 300 Ford motor to put in it. Its time to start mocking up the ch***is as I look for a 30/31 four door sedan to through on top. I figure it will take me more than 10 years to just get this project mocked up, but I'm pretty patient and this is what I've wanted since the first time I had an interest in anything automotive. I was wondering where the closest swap meets are held from New Orleans, LA. I know they have some in texas. Any shout outs would be nice (place and relative time/month) just so I can keep an eye out for them in the future. I tried looking at the event calender but it was getting kind of difficult. Scott
