Well, this seems like the sort of place to hang out! I'm about to turn 60 and been a car guy since I was about 12 years old. However, although I've had a long list of old cars from Hudsons, to Edsels to Corvairs, and heaven only know what else, I've never had anything that wasn't on the road with it's original drivetrain. That all changed this past weekend when I couldn't resist a deal on a 1953 Mercury Monterey. A solid rust free body (extremely rare here in Minnesota) with a decent custom/hot rod project just about done. It's got a 1970 Ford 351W (I think he said it was a Windsor anyway -- I was trying to hide my glee at finding a car that wasn't a rust bucket underneath) with a C4 transmission. It drives very good and from what I can tell all the work done on it it top notch. New wiring throughout, recent, decent home done paint job, headliner and door panels are done, etc. Front has been lowered. Drives good. Lots of power. But I have questions that I'll post later in the boards.
