Just want to introduce myself. I am 40 years old, self employed. I run a small sign and graphics shop and also do automotive interiors. My father taught me the upholstery business and I grew up with a small shop on our property. In 1966 he bought a 1928 Essex RS coupe from the original owner, we restored it together and enjoyed it as an original car. 5 Years ago he passed it on to me. It was in need of a cosmetic re restoration. I have been a fan of hot rodding for years but I am very sick of belly*****on SBC billet rods. I have started to do a more traditional hot rodding of the essex. Includes 354 CU Hemi Industrial engine - 2 carbs and aluminum finned valve cover etc. 700R4 Auto - need something for the road 9 inch Ford Rear with 4 bar and coil overs TCI dropped front axle Red steelies and wide whites Black body with pewter scallop on side Red suspension pieces Tuck n Roll red interior Lokar swan neck shifter Classic guages Car is 1/2 done now, body work is all done, will have full fenders but no hood and brushed aluminum fire wall. I like the look of traditional rods and really like to see all the old powerplants being used. I want to drive my car and am not really concerned with stone chips or bugs etc. To me it is all in the enjoyment of the car and the fact that it has been a member of the family for 40 years. I have taken alot of flack for cuttin up a one owner restored car but who cares right! It is my car and I should be able to use it as I like. cheers Steve HemiEssex
