    Hello All,
My name is A.J. Downey from Newberry, Mi. Located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I have been restoring vintage motorcycle for a few years, and recently took the plunge into vintage hot rod scene. My father test drove for Ford at the Romeo Proving grounds after his tour in Vietnam 67-68. He was a 1955 Chevy shoebox man and I grew up hearing stories of giant motors ,huge crashes, and the hay day of hot rod glory on Woodward ave. We spend our youth trying to be nothing like our parents, while in the end we eventually become them.

I found the latest restoration gasser projects on one of the back road two tracks cow path we used to fly down as kids. The previous owner had painted it white, and couldn't get the engine running right and abandoned the project. It had sat outside under pine trees for the last 25 years and was pretty deteriorated.

A new couple had purchased the home and drug the car out to the edge of 1/8th line road to have it scrapped, and that's when I came upon it, luckily the previous owner was still alive and I was able to purchase the car directly from him and get the clear Michigan title.

I have had it roughly 5 weeks, so prepare yourself for an onslaught of photos in the build section of the forum from the beginning of the restoration.

Ive always liked the moon tank/straight axle gassers
