    Hey guys,

I just wanted to drop in and say "hey", just joined but have been browsing the site for quite a while.

anyway, I just picked up a 1954 Pontiac Chieftain and I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of research about it in the next few months.

the car is basically all original except for the paint and the 12v conversion that's partially done.
still trying to decide to put it back in original condition or go ahead and "hot rod" it a bit. right now it could go either way.

thanks for being such a great resource.

Welcome. I think you know that we'll advise you to hot-rod it a bit. Great looking Pontiac.

  4. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. I vote a mild kustom. You already have the cool paint. And that 54 grill that everyone wants for their Fords and Chevys. lol What part of the old Dominion are you from? Hope you post some pictures of your Pontiac. Ron...

I'm in the Virginia Beach area, actually about 20 minutes away from the ocean front.

thanks for the warm welcomes, I'm sure I'll be picking some brains around here.

I have decided to build it into a nice cruiser, using the original drive train but modern suspension and brakes, redo the interior back to original.

two tone the paint but going away from the black/red
