I've been car crazy my whole life, it was inherited, and have a few cars that my dad had purchased many years ago with the hopes of restoring them with his sons. Unfortunately, he got sick and passed away before we were teens. My username BarnFind39 isn't that I found the car in a barn to buy, it's been in my barn since I was born, I'm just finding time to work on it. Not wanting to risk messing them up, I bought some cars to practice on, and after decades of dabbling with a 1st Gen Camaro, still own after 35 years, and a 460 powered Fox Mustang, I think it's time to tackle these projects. I have also done a few car restorations, numerous repairs and other side work on some really cool stuff for people over the years. That has been accomplished in the time I'm not selling automotive paint & supplies to collision & restoration shops and spending time with family. My son has helped me work on the Mustang for years, is super excited to work on my dad's cars and even willing to help fund the project. 15 or 20 years ago I feel like a car had to have shiny paint or it was looked at as a piece of junk. Since that's no longer the case, I'm making this a sound driver, call it finished and move on to the next one. I'm looking forward to absorbing as much knowledge as possible from the very intelligent people that are posting on these forums. Sorry to ramble, I'm just excited to start onto this project. Lee
Well, welcome to the HAMB from E. Tennessee. Really cool that you and your son share an interest like this. Looking forward to seeing what you do. We really like pictures.
Welcome to the HAMB from Illinois. That looks like a really fun project. Just try to keep it under control, as you have said was your goal. The temptation is always, "well while I'm at it I might as well...."
Great intro. That's definitely a cool one - I can't wait to see how it comes out! I'll be looking for your build thread. hint hint...
Welcome to the HAMB and great intro! Looking forward to following along on you bringing your dad's cars to life. I have a similar background to you it seems. I used to work for a place that supplied paint and supplies to shops as well and played with muscle cars before I saw the light of traditional hot rods and customs. Might update your profile to add a location since that sometimes helps when you are looking for parts/help, whatever.
Thanks, didn't realize it was missing. I must've forgotten to save my profile because I know I had it typed in there.
