Hey, just joined up, figured I'd introduce myself. I own a '62 Buick Special, still trying to figure out what to do mod-wise. Lower to earth, black and 15" steelies. It's got a V6, so I'll probably start by switching to a Rover V8. Let me know what you think of it. Keep in mind, it's from my home state, New York, hence the rust.
Sweet ride, dude. Where in New york did you score that ride? I saw one for sale last year that looked just like it in Tonawanda or Niagara Falls, I can't remember. I picked up 61 skylark about 2 years ago and I have to say they are cool little cars. Bitch finding parts though. Lots of potential. Good luck!
I found it in Hyde Park, and yeah, they are a bitch to find parts for. Fortunately for me, the body's in decent shape to fix, and the mechanicals are all in good order. What parts are you looking for on yours?
Any parts are desirable parts. It would be fine if I did nothing. But we all know thats no fun. I rebuilt the motor last year and ran it all summer. Went to Good-Guys in Columbus. It ran great. As we speak, there is no front end in it. I'm putting new everything up front including a changover to discs. Plus I'm dumping the 2 speed auto for a 4 speed. I think it would look cool with some Radirs and some heavy metal flake. Weatherstrip. I need weatherstrip.
