Been lurking for a while. I wanted to wait until my car had begun it's transformation into a cool 60's custom to introduce myself. Until recently it's been a stocker.

My name is John Cook, I'm 32 years old and I live in Austin. I'm married. No kids yet, just dogs. I'm kinda new to the wrenching way of life. I got my car about 3 years ago and started reading all the car magazines I could get my hands on. That only lasted a couple of months because I realized that traditional was the only style for me and I became more selective and eventually discovered the HAMB.

Back to my ride. It's a 60 Falcon that's been dropped 3" in the rear and is in the process of being covered in white primer. 3" drop coils are on order for the front. I'm going to post a few pics. This is a photodropped version of what I'm going for.

I'm trying to finish before the Roundup so I can park it in the "special" lot for procrastinators.

No v8 yet. Planning on getting an old Granada w/a 302 in a few months for parts. Now it's running a srtaight six w/3 on the tree.

I do have a weak spot though for sixes like this one. I guess I'm wishy washy.

  6. Now that's an intro.
Like the project, those old falcons are sweet. And you can go up (gasser style) or down(in the dirt down) with 'em.

If that's the 6 keep it. Or make yours like that one. Other than that excellent intro. Welcome to the HAMB.

Very Nice! are you planning on running your car around in primer? you might want to use a product called polane by sherwin williams .It is a cataylized paint that is satin (suede) and will not absorb moisture. you can pick up the whole system for under 150 bucks and comes in various colors.plus if you want to change to a base clear you can shoot over the product after a coat of sealer.. best of luck!!!

For the record that's not my six. Just a dream. It belongs to a guy that goes by retrorod on tffn.com.

I didn't expect so many votes in favor of a six. I have a weak spot for them, but I'd also like to go fast someday.

It's about time ya' got on here. We workin' on tha' Falcon tonight?

  13. Kool Falcon...your dream 6, if it looks like that, would be the way to go ....lots of V8's out there ...like the stance. Send in some shot's when it's finished! Oh by the way, welcome to HAMB.

  14. Now that is a great concept for the Falcon, the stance would be insane.

Keep the six, I'm runnin mine without an oil filter and it hasn't given me any trouble. But its hard to beat a 235 Chevy......... lol

Hey, really nice! Not too many custom Falcons out there.

I have a '65 with a 250/C4 shift kit, 5 lug disc brakes, lowered, cliffy header and duals, etc.

If you're looking for an upgrade I am going to have the complete 250 and trans for sale this summer as I am going to V8 power. Time to go fast.

Been to the fordsix.com forums? [IMG]

Welcome, love the Falcon. I'm on my fifth Falcon now, all '64 and '65 bodies. The '60/'61 sedans were the best looking sedans of any of them. Hope to see it at the Roundup.
