I used to be a drag racer, but when gas got to $4 a gallon and race fuel $8 a gallon I sold the race car and used the funds to buy a hot rod, because I thought it would be more affordable to play. I have had more fun building my new ride than I ever had working on my race car and I have not yet even got it on the road yet. I hope to have it finished by April or May. Here is my first question. My ride is 100% hand built. It has never had a VIN. I have a blank VIN tag. Here is what I have thought about. I have a friend that has been restoring old vehicles for 50 years. He has a box full of open titles, for which actual vehicles no longer exist. I buy a title from him that resembles my ride, put the VIN on my tag and go to the department of motor vehicles. The only other option I have heard is that Alabama has a home made vehicle application that you can fill out and pay for then go to the local DMV and transfer. I am open for your input. Here is my second question. I have a 355 with a crane energizer hydralic cam with about 480 lift. I don't have the exact specs what I can remember was that the cam card stated 1500 min rpm and max of 6500. I have stock pickup heads, a tunnel ram and 2 600 cfm Holleys. Right now it is way rich. What size jets should I start with? If you would like to see my ride you can go to my personal site at http://www.jeffellis.org/rat.html I hope you enjoy the pics. Any advice will be appreciated. Jeff
Most people on here wont admit it,(because its illegal) but the easiest thing to do is get a title matching your vehicle, stamp the vin and call it a day. I however would never condone such a thing
in regards to your title a guy has to do what a guy a guy has to do and you will be a lot ritcher after filling that big black hole over that you had to keep throwing money in to just to keep raceing kev
