Within the next couple of weeks I am going to start my first hot rod build. It is a 29 Model A tudor, but first I have some questions on building the frame. I have a original A frame and I want to z it front and rear. The first question is where is the best place to cut the frame for the z's, Also how much do I z it? I want about a 6 inch ride height. I will end up running a 4 inch drop I beam axle most likely the Pete and Jakes front end kit. In the rear I am thinking either a 4 link or a 3 link. I am open to any ideas you might have.
    thanks

Well the first ? is you going to be running fenders? If so boxing the stock frame will make it a bit easier. No fenders get you some 2X3 .125 wall tube and use the stock frame as a guide for demensions. I would make the front Z at the firewall/toe board area, the rear suspension choice will somewhat dictate where in the rear. Another ? car going to be channled? A few more details of what you are working with as to body style and fenders or lack of would get you some more/better ideas. Just remember measure a lot and tack weld and MEASURE again.

The car is not going to have fenders and I plan on channeling the body 4 inches. I am also going to run a sbc, I got a running 283 free which I will put in the car to get it moving, then build a 350 with a blower. Could I get some pics of z'ed A frames and front and rear suspension options.

both of those are great threads. I am just looking for specs on where to cut to put the z in.
