newbie paint job

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hivolt5.0, Apr 9, 2011.

  1. I needed a temporary paint job for my Ranchero while I finish up some other projects for some friends so I thought I'd do the preverbal cheap paint job and add some pin stripe flames. Your thoughts?

It needs a lot of work, but hey, it's all about having fun and driving the wheels off of it right?

That looks great. Nothing wrong with driving the wheels off of it just the way it sets.

  8. Well, to be honest, a buddy was sanding the body in preparation for a good paint job when we found some areas that were gonna take time to prepare properly. I'm currently working on his '50 F1 (have done a ton of work) and have a '48 F4 that needs to be finished for another friend. So I decided instead of spending a lot of money on a paint job (prep time etc) I was going to sand off in a year or so I just decided to spray bomb it with semi-gloss black. Yeah, I know....but, it actually doesn't look too bad up close. It looks better than it did with various colors of primer on it. Another friend of mine laid down the pin stripe flames.

It looks good enough at the moment to just have fun with it until I can take the time to prep it properly.

  9. Uhm...let me think about that....nope. :D

My kids love riding in it and I love driving it.
