Newbie with 39 MOPAR

Hi my name is Steve and I'm from Atlantic City N.J. I'm a retired Fire Captain who hobby is cars. I have a 55 Nomad and a 39 Dodge D11.
I read a lot of good info on this forum and the people here seen te be very helpful. I looking for advice on updating my 39 2door to a modern V8 and overdrive tranny. I have a donor 92 Dodge Dakota ( 318/auto) donor truck. Is it better and easier to clip the front end or just to get new mounts for the 318 if they are available?
