I get called a lot of things, but I answer to J.R.. I have been in the welding business 27 of my 41 years. I grew up next door to my uncles junk yard in middle Georgia and have had cars in my blood all my life either working on mine or someone elses. I started reading here several months ago and have been hooked ever since. I have several projects that I have drug home and if I get far enough along I will post some pics. I have a friend at a crushing yard and from time to time something comes along worth saving. The last thing I saved was a 49 GMC PU. The rear frame and bed are rusted out, but the 6 cyl runs and the cab is in great shape. I am open to ides of what to do with it. I don't care much for making a regular truck back out of it, I would rather cut on it some first to express my inner self.

Welcome. I've been playing with some ideas for and AD truck myself. We have some extra parts that NEED to be hacked up and put back together in a new arrangement.

Crawfordville Georgia... is located right off Interstate 20 halfway between the Atlanta area and the Augusta area...or it is halfway between the Athens area and the Macon area. In other words its kinda in the middle of nowhere. The town has a red light and a State Park but little else. The movie "sweet Home Alabama" was filmed for the most part here. It was the only town they could close for 2 months. I actually live out in the country about 10 miles from any town. We can spin our wheels out here without anyone getting mad. They usually come over to see what ya got running.
