Howdy friends, My name is Magic Marco; I've been a hot rod & kustom fan since back in the 50's when I used to sit in school and draw pictures of customized cars. Back in the '60's and '70's I owned a number of late '40's Chevrolets ('46, '47 and '48) and I loved them all. At one time or another I owned every body style except the convertible. Then I had to settle down and earn a living for my family, so the '40's had to go. Fast forward to the present: I'm 64 now, and as a reward for all those years of hard work I finally bought myself another old Chevy: a 1940 Master Deluxe tudor. My buddy on the day job, Tracy, is a car guy from way back: he's currently working on a couple of chevies of his own, a chopped 1950 and a 1959 El Camino. He knew I loved the old cars and hot rods, so for the last few years he's been slipping me pictures of cars for sale on Craig's List, E-Bay, etc. I finally broke down when he showed me a picture of a 1940 Master Deluxe for sale on Craig's List for $6300 (turns out it had originally been listed for $7,000). I went to look at it, fell in love, and bought it on the spot for $5,300 cash. (Well, the 5K in cash I brought with me, and $300 on the credit card.) Hell of a deal! I'm told the car was in a barn in Ohio for 37 years; the body is perfectly straight, and exterior rust is virtually non-existent. I'm thinking of doing it up SoCal LowRider style: lower it (with bags, probably), lots of shiny chrome (grille, fog lights, spot lights), sun visor, etc. Whatta ya think?
Welcome aboard from Maryland. I have fond memories of my 41 Chevy Master Delux 2 door sedan. They used to yell at me "Hey! Down in front" when I would take it to the drive-in......lol Where does the Magic come from in your name?
