Hi all. Discovered this site by a referral to the thread "Vintage photos from days gone by" Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio now live in Atlanta. Born in 1943. Been fascinated by machines all my life. Wrenched all types of machines (except aircraft and trains). Now work as a heavy equipment mechanic at a paving company. Built and modified several cars in the late 50's and early 60's. Did a little jalopy racing at Lawrenceville Ind. dirt track. Some of my cars; 53 Olds Super 88 with 3 deuces and a modified Hydromatic trans, 36 Ford PU with Olds V8 and Hydro trans (scary beast!!), 57 Chevy with 283 and four speed, 58 Chev Impala with trans planted 409 and four speed. Best car I ever owned was a 67 Corvair Yenko Stinger, Stage III 220 HP. Won a lot of money from Mustang owners on my favorite twisty road. My handle refers to my all time favorite aircraft, the P-38 Lightening from WW II. In my opinion the most beautiful airplane ever built.
