Guys, does anyone happen to have a really good picture of the correct 70's "Lunati Cams" or "General Kinetics Cams" logos you could post?? I see them in the old magazines but they are in black and white and I need to know what colors they were. Thanks
Sounds like a good task for Pete (P426) ... unless he's getting ready to party. And speaking of Pete, and while we're currently on a 'big' Chevy 'kick,' here's an earlier post of his. Looks like Ronnie 'passed' on the 'radio delete' option to be able to enjoy some tunes as he lumbered his 195/283 down the quarter!
Steve, thanks for the compliment. Yes,the Delivery is signed up and will be there for 2010. As I have read on here, there are now 6 signed up and it is only January so who knows how many will show. The guys who have checked in on the Junior Stock thread is incredible,as are the postings...........
I have a Lunati catolog from 1970 and it shows a decal shaped like Tennessee and also some car photos in the catolog with just the Lunati Cams lettering. The Ten. logo is colored and clear, but I'm not sure about the lettering only ones on the cars. I have a GK catolog, no color shots but I'll look and maybe have a decal in my old folder.Let me know if you want the Lunati Tennessee shaped decal I'll scan it and post it. I aslo have other old catologs. Lou - LAW
Ha Brad A good friend of mine owns this car. We were talking today on what he was going to do with it. Its in bare fiberglass at this point. Ron
Your in luck! After looking through my pile of old decals I found some NEW GK decals 8 1/2" and 4 1/2". Email me with your address and I'll send you a set of each. My Email is lawauto@aol.com If your looking for any other decals, send me a list and I'll see if I have any. Lou - LAW
Hello Lou....How are ya. It's been a few years hasn't it! I see Walter and Anne once in a while at the track. Haven't seen you since your 2 wheeled days........Hope your good........Happy New Year....Rich B.
I'd like to take this time to wish all my friends here a (soon to be) Happy New Year! Party safely... Pete
This is my first post so I hope the photo attaches. I think you can zoom in on the attached photo for the Lunati Cams decal. By the way, I'm trying to find the car in the photo so if anybody remembers it, please let me know. Craig /Users/craigcouris/Desktop/3452 @ Bowling Green.jpg
this is a image of the second 66 chevrolet wagon the first wagon was totaled coming back from island dragway when a 60 olds came around a corner on 284 just west of unionville ny. in new jersey hit the front tire on the the truck broke the tie rod end before we knew it the truck and the race car was on the roof. we also lent the car to Norman Mayarsohn i am not sure why he needed the the car. he installed the motor and trans from his chevelle. in 1972 as every one knows stock as we knew it was gone so the motor that truppi kling was building to replace the motor that came apart turned into supper stock motor. i lost interest so my brother took over the driving of the car. he raced the car for two years. in 74 stock was was back so i put the the 283 short block back in the car with the t/k heads and a trick cam.took it to island dragway and went six tenths under the minimum. when this picture was taken we had sold the car to a friend of ours jeff martin Robert
I am looking for any photos of the Downing & Ryan Fairlane raced on the East Coast from 1967 to 1970. I have several but am hoping there are more out there.
Nope, the Nationals were held at Detroit in 1959 and 1960. NHRA moved the Nationals to Indianapolis in 1961 and that is where it has remained. Here's a photo from the Nationals at Detroit in 1960...
Guess it is Fuzzy Memory!! UGH!! Mea Culpa. Got more of those old Detroit or Indy pix? keep em comin. By Chance, doyou have any of the Columbia Olds or Queen Olds cars? How bout Nate Wright's Old Olds?
At the risk of fuzzy memory loss?? Wasn't 61 Nationals in Detroit? <!-- / message --><!-- sig --> __________________ INDY for sure. I was there. Hayden Proffitt was a bad dude.
here is a link to Ray Whitney and his Chevy Impala 409 Wagon "DOGCATCHER" http://sites.google.com/site/dadsracecars/
Now that is very cool. I remember seeing that car back in the "Stone Age" and would love to see it run again.
A typical sight at the dragstrips throughout the country in the 50's-60's. An early Olds getting tweeked for Stock Eliminator.
