I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest that, since this thread was begun in 2007 that some of the photo files that are not embedded (that is, contained in outside services such as Flikr or Photobucket) have time-lapsed. If you see something you like, it's a good idea to copy it when it comes up. c
I didn't know that; thanks for the info. Btw, the photo is from the York US 30 National Open race in 1979. Pete
Hey Mike. Thanks for the heads up on the Stahls. I was watching them also and now are the proud owner of these babys. They will look good on my 56 Chevy Delivery am building just like my 57 see earlier thread put out by Lew Becker. Thanks also to Lew and all your interest. I am new to this site so hopefully I will not make any mistakes and be welcomed in. Thanks guys for all the great reading and memories. Larry
Just a "heads-up" for those folks asking, earlier, about Howard's Wheels: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=561005 Now being reproduced...
Got these pictures from a fellow selling them on Ebay (Mike Cirillo) taken 69/70 either York, Ceil, Atco Here's another from the same collection. The Ebay seller found these from his deceased father's collection. I can not take credit for these but they are great stuff
I remember running against them with my 65 Plymouth at Aquasco in Md. in 1965. Yeah they beat me ! I still remember how quickly that car left the line with that 4-speed hydro as I had to give them a spot. We didnt have good torgue converters avaliable in 1965 so it was hard to catch them and I didnt....LOL. I still have a small plaque that reads "Drag Times Jr. Stock Finalist" from that race.
Definitely not Cecil County. York did not have fences along the track and Atco's timing tower was block and on the right hand side of the tract. Not sure which track it might have been. The first time I saw the Cherry Buster car was at Delmar and it was a beautiful shade of red ( dark candy apple) and had gold leaf stripes on the roof and hood. Sure was a good looking car!
This is absolutely Cecil County Drag-O-Way. Obvously, it was not during the Cars Mag Meet, since the place was Packed during those fantastic multi day races. That car had several paintings, but always looked and ran great. Tom
OK since I was wrong on the year of the Impala I need to try again Can't get this one wrong 57 Chevy sedan delivery Jr Stocker O/SA - 13.95 dial in
