Finally decided to chime in. I bracket raced a '66 Satellite for a bunch of years. Turned it into a Pro-street car and hated it. Sold it at Chrysler Carlisle. Went racing with the guy I was working part time for. He and his brothers have a '69 SS/JA Camaro. So I wanted to build a stocker. Started out as a 383 2-bbl in K/SA. Than I added a 4-bbl and went to G/SA. Didn't think I was doing too bad at 4.5 tenths under the index. Than the turned port Camaros and Trans-Ams showed up running 6 under out of the box. Changed some things and went NMCA junior stock racing. Cheaper and funner. Sold it to a guy up near Kenneth Square Pa. when I bought my '40. Haven't seen it since. Here are a couple of pictures from a car show. And a picture of the response Jere Stahl sent me when I asked about headers. Gene.
My mother used to have a 1966 Coronet sedan (same color) like this back in the mid-1970s. It was Slant Six-powered. J.S.
Not sure what link (site) you're talking about. You are correct (most of) the photos are from Division 1. J.S.
J.S. this is actually a '67 Coronet Deluxe. Bottom of the barrel. It was a 17,000 mile 6-banger when I got it. Auto trans and deluxe wheel covers were all that was on the 2100.00 window sticker. The AM radio was added at the dealer. Gene.
*****s still owns this car today after all these years!!! Back in the day he owned C/SA for years and was the man to beat. Nice photo from Dover Drag Strip. Jimbo
Very cool he still owns this. I bet there aren't many '62 Plymouths left from their racing days. And even less Sport Fury's. And that off white/beige color looks best on these cars. But I bet there is even less of them.
I didn't know there was a 361 two 4-barrel engine. I thought these cars came with the 383 two 4-barrel engine. Beautiful color.
Are you sure it didn't have the 340/275 hp engine? Here's it's running in I/SA cl*** which makes more sense (to me) if you're running the 273/235 hp powerplant.
Reynolds Buick and "Pop" Kennedy, a formidable combination. Picture taken half-a-mile from my house. P*** by that spot almost every day. c
I'd like to know myself! The only other car I recall seeing sporting similar rims was Carmen Rotonda's early Corvette. J.S.
Rotunda's 61 Vette in the above pic had Appliance Uni Slots I believe. Not sure if the GTO has Uni Slots but there may have been another manufacturer that made a similar wheel. The slots look different on the Pontiac to me at least.
The GTO has seven slots...Rotonda's 'Vette has nine. Like you said, it may or may not be the same wheel manufacturer. At least I know who made the seven-slot version. J.S.
