WHAT!!!! Give him forty lashes with a wet seat belt! Sadly, I bet a lot of these cars ended up that way. I have seen wagons become parts cars for two doors myself. And couldn't stop it.

Loudbang, the "Canadian Record Holder" was eventually owned by Cal Pon of Toronto, Ontario and it was painted a beautiful shade of Red, think you have posted a picture of the car before. Could be wrong but it could have belonged to a fellow by the name of Randy (?) Birch in the picture above. Another cool find, you amaze me.
Loudbang: You have a way of finding photo's of cars I have not seen since the mid 60's !!! Keep posting because my memory is slowly coming back with each photo. Jimbo
^^^^^Looks like the "Smith Bro's" are about to become the Smith BROTHER. Jack stands under the rear of the Wagon, and only a hydraulic jack under the front. Good looking car just the same. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
I checked and have posted a couple more Canadians car over the years but no more Sedan Deliverys. The best part is I start looking for one kind of car like Corvettes or Ford junior stockers and going from link to link I find these guys, more luck than anything else except looking through hundreds of photos.
Well there is a first I was wrong. LOL Loudbang the car I was thinking about was indeed Bob Burch's car that Cal Pon bought. The pictures of the 55 as Biscaynes correctly points out is in your post 12292 and again in post 12294 from April 6/16. I will do some digging on the Mid Nite Oil car to correct for my sins. According to my wife I have been wrong many times before. Sorry guys.
The photo of GRUMPY by the BEELINE DRAGWAY tower has to be the most popular shot I've seen of him in the early days. GREAT PHOTO.
Modified Production I am unsure if this goes here but it looks cool. if there is a thread please post a link.
enloe here is the M/P thread. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/modified-production.348502/

Things I remember in AHRA Hot Rod Class (SS Type)... Cubic Inch... Pump Down Cyl for displacement. Weight of car after the run. DC arc test the fuel. We passed with Alcohol Blend and JB Fuel Additive.....I know of. Location of engine.....people moved the engine back, adjusted core supports and mounts. Also Front Wheel Stagger was big....1" allowed front left / right on wheel base. Gives better roll out on the lights. Note TOP FUEL today...same deal..big stagger on front tires. Slick engine shops would off center bore the cylinders to breathe better...some OEMs benefitted better. I remember every time my dad won.......someone would protest just to tear down the engine and hope someone would talk on what they found or study any new power secrets. We were the record holders in 1975..D/HR held it at end of year too....everyone trying to figure out what Big Wally and Pops was doing. Big Wally Hoehn and Wally "DOC" Wilson 1975 AHRA World Record Holding D/HR. The class of the field in 1975. Car was an original COPO, but was running only a SBC. Car won the 1975 Summer Nationals at Thompson Drag Raceway. by GlassThamesDoug posted Feb 12, 2014 at 8:34 PM
