Does the HAMB dragster need any certification from NHRA to run on any CA tracks? I know this car has run in MO, but does not have any NHRA stickers.

I don't think you need anything because of the cl***. Ron, Bob Hindman and I raced at KC, MO which is an NHRA track and had no problems. The roll bar is the big thing and they will check your safety belts and other things to make sure you are good and the SFI rating is current. By the way I always beat that car. He holds the speed record. Mine is an SDRA car so it has a slush box but the engines are just about indentical. I run stock rocker arms and yours are Ron's special roller rockers a one of a kind set. Ron is a great machinist and you have a great car. My car went 116.94mph at 11.36 last week.

The best guide is the NHRA Rulebook. If your car meets the 10.00 or slower Altered requirements, it will p*** tech. HA/GR cars are essentially Altereds without a recognized car body (Fiat, T Roadster, Bantam, etc). Rear engine and mid engine HA/GR's would be the exception. 10.00 second or slower Altereds, and front engine dragsters do not require certification nor do you need to purchase S.F.I. plans and specs to build the car.

Many cars that might not meet every requirement still p*** tech at various tracks.

The cars plan and mine is to run better than 11.36. I will be at Fresno in October, Sacramento and try to head down to Pomona. I have done some work to the car here in the SF Bay Area. I hope to meet up with everyone soon.

You will find as I did that the 6 inch treaded tires will be your learning experience. My top speed has always been in the 116 to 118 mph for 3 years but the ET has steadily gone from 11.70's to the best of 11.36. You will find that power is going to be way to much the first 300 feet. How you launch and play with the throttle will be what makes you get better and better ET's. Bob Hindman right now with his Chevrolet 6 is cutting 1.70 sixty foot times and I feel it is great if I can make a 1.80 sixty foot time. These cars are great to race because the driver is 75% of it and the car is 25% of it. Nothing like the cars that are running today that you have so much tire that you couldn't go up in smoke if you sidestepped the clutch.
