NHRA shortens track to 1000 ft for fuel cars

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Church, Jul 2, 2008.

  1. I agree. If you took the paint off of the cars you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Nationwide cup just went a step further. Apparently the Toyota's were a little faster than everything else, well JGR's were, so what did they do? They took 15 hp from the Toyota's by making them run a restrictor plate. I mean, the car has only been successful for a half of one year. I used to be for who ever was in a Ford, back when it was a Ford, now I don't care what they are in because they are all the same, so now I pull for a driver and or crew or owner. I could care less what kind of car it is even if it is a (wink) Toyota.

Here is another thought. When Blain Johnson died, and Eric Medlin they did not shorten it. And when Earnhardt died at Daytona they didn't turn it into 1/2 mile short track. I say leave it 1320 and focus more on track safety. When Dale passed it brought on soft wall technology and the HANS into full force. Why not focus on improved shut down and runoff? Oh! I know why because since Winston left the NHRA it has not had the same amount of financial backing to support the tracks that are the means for its own existence.

Once again just my two cents worth. Danny

This type of BS all started with bracket racing. Go too fast and lose?

Shortening tracks will make the shortest racing event even shorter... Don't blink.

I agree, I got out of Drag racing because the faster my car became the less time I spent racing and more time I spent wrenching or waiting. With my Latemodel I car run a 50 lap feature beat the piss out of it and still keep running!
