Hey I was thinking on the NHRA rules does it have to have 2 doors or would one work ? I would not have a problem with a functional aluminum door even tho when opened you still step over tube frame. I have noticed that it is common on race cars roll cage is built that way in respect to the doors. Just throwing this out there as I am still in gathering stage on parts. I like the idea of a truck spring maybe even add some frozen shocks too still rigid but meets the specs. I would have no problem with a ***le n registration either. Just wondering what it takes to race in Cantaffordya next time someone is at track ask some of these questions after you are finished running thanks Ken
I've been wanting to put a HA/GR together since the idea was first formed. My biggest concern is NHRA legality as 99% of my track time will be at local NHRA tracks. I think that in order to avoid a lot of h***les, I'm going to have to have rear suspension of some kind and I'll have to build mine a little wider to avoid the center steer issue. I'm planning on narrowing up the '27 roadster cowl I have the width of the filler door and using doors. They'll be bolted shut, but they'll be there. With the "wider" body, I shoud be able to avoid the funny car style cage and run a roll bar. To me, the car would hark back to the days of the dual purpose drag-lakes cars. Karl
Mine is definitely having the seat offset and I have thought of running "rear suspension", with very limited movement as a way to cir***vent that problem, but I don't know about the door bit, as it seems absurd to have a door that is either non-functional, or is completely backed by tubing that negates its function.
