I hope both events are successful, and I'll be surprised if they aren't. Having Indy and the NHHR on consecuitive weekends is more of a conflict to me than having two Bowling Green events 4 months apart.

I just called National Trail Raceway and they said they are having it THERE in COLUMBUS on Father's Day weekend JUNE 13-15.

They really need to decided one way or another. People need to plan.

I did and she said that she wasn't sure about that. She said she had also heard rumors about it moving for maybe even 2008. Looks like no one knows!

Bowling Green is a nicer venue all the way around... except the whole gettin in and gettin out situation. UGH!! But, if they got that fixed, it oughta be great!!!

I'm Looking Forward To This Trip Cause My Car's Never Been Safe Enough For Them To Let Me Take It Down The Track. I've Got All That Fixed Now And Can't Wait To Suck Up Some Beech Bend Asphalt!

According to my son-in-law, who lives in Bowling Green and works for Holley, the lawyer that was claiming the rights to the only road in/out for Beech Bend, had his day in court and lost. He also told me the park / track is doing "some" work on the road to move traffic along faster.

Despite all the above, he's heard nothing official about the HRR coming back to Beech Bend.........or at least he's not able to say.

I have gone to Bowling Green twice. Its the best place to hold this event. The grandstands are covered. That's a big thing on a hot sunny day. The grounds and track are great. There are lots of hotels and places to eat. Oh yea, the pulled pork at the track is worth the trip.

    Just thinking:

If HDP finalizes the purchase of NHRA's Pro division and the tracks by the end of the year. That would mean that NHRA would have to pay HDP for the rent on Columbus. My guess is BG is cheaper to rent.

I go to college with a guy that works at the track during the summer. I'll ask him to see if he knows anything since he works at beech bend.

I don't believe Rich is referring to the little divided treed lines road on the property BUT the main road that leads TO that road. The one with the business on it before it turns rural.

The "main road" splits when it reaches Beech Bend property at which point lately EVERYONE had to make the sharp right and go down the treed lines divided path. If you would go straight instead of turning right, that was the road in the dispute. Before the dispute this was the little road that the participates used and the divided path on the right was the one that the spectators used ALL of which allowed the traffic to flow into the grounds twice as fast as it had lately.

Land dispute over, issues resolved, lets get back to racing at the coolest little track anywhere.

    There's a third road but I'm not telling where:D

    It's official, per Steve Gibbs.

"I'll be brief. Announcements will be coming soon.

If you have rooms in Columbus......cancel them.

If you don't have rooms in Bowling Green.....get them.

    Same dates - June 13-15, 2008.
