    Is that compressor/motor a Hercules or a Wakeshau ?
It does not look like Continental, but I could be incorrect.

Definitely get a buddy or two with some knowledge to help you make a fair offer. Do it like Frankie from American Pickers and "bundle it".

A year or two ago sombody posted a pic of this car on the HAMB, they had found a pic of it on the web. They didn`t know anything about it. The pic was from taken from outside lookin in the shop, all you could see was the side view of the rear quater. you could just make out that it had 3 caddy taillights. Nobody had any info on the car. I`ll try to find the thread.

I dont think this is the car, but it would look something like this restored.

    Lon Hurley's '46 Cadillac from Rikster's site.

Ok so I have been going back and forth with this guy about these cars......Today I atleast talk turkey and found out he is just to far off on prices..... he was going to scrap the caddy's and I told him I would give him $700 for them and he wouldnt have to lift a finger...Big NO.... so I go $1000 I just want the engines and I would part them out..... he said Its worth $3000.....WTF he was scrapping it 5 secounds ago for mabye $500.....also there was a 49 ford sunk into the ground still solid but had been there forever you could tell......I said how about $1000 for the ford he said nope I need $2000 I can get them pretty solid rolling with flatheads for $1500 all day....last ditch effert I ask for a crazy price for everything on his land and all the stuff in the sheds....."I WILL NOT SELL AS A LOT"
Man hes under the impression that if its old and someone is interestedin it its worth a fortune......I made sure he hadmy number and told him to cruze ebay and craigslist on prices and get back with me
Sucks cause I know from our phone conversations that the guy that owns this stuff his kids were down from kansas the 16th and they told him"just get what you can for this junk and get the place cleaned up"........I evan shot him a crazy price for a locked up hemi to see if he would bite nope.....I felt like he thought if I wanted it for 100 he would think it was worth 300.... like I was low balling......This guy has no clue about any of these cars or the history he kept asking me questions and it seems the more I truthfully answered the further the price was on the stuff.....If I told him about the history he would tack on more money
Im done for now he has my number and when reality hits hope he will call

Man that sucks! I once went to buy a model t "with the top cut off" and when I arrived, I muttered ... touring car. Yeap, the price went up when he found out the top wasn't cut off. I sure hope this works out for you mister!

  21. That guy sounds like a fucking dick. It is so sad to see that custom like that. I really hope that custom gets restored.

  22. Good luck with this. I hope it doesn't just come to getting scrapped instantly without so much as a call one day. You know how people are.....Keep us posted.

P.S. -- Easy on the "texting" style posts, saints....some folks wont put up with that kind of misspelled, jamed together bunch of words on here....Just my $.02...

"I'm going to sell these for scrap"

The engine in the second photo is a 20's Lincoln engine.

I would be interested in that engine if you got a hold of some of this stuff.

Don't know if it is the same Drake but Meyers Drake Engineering was the people who purchased Offenhauser Engines at the end of World War 2. The Drake stuff could all be prewar stuff especially if in the open wheel car.

He's just afraid of being screwed thats all. He has no clue to value, he probably wont give a price on something and will wait on an offer and double or triple it.
Too bad. Very likely the stuff will disappear one day.

Yep he said he has 6 of them Ive seen them from far off but he wouldnt open the gate to the building so I could get a close look. The pic of the yellow racer has the building in the background.
Im still going to stop by from time to time to make sure he holds up to his deal of not scrapping them. He talked about dragging all the cars to a open flat area so they could be looked over by buyers so Im holding strong that he still will sell or at least has a auction.
He said If the owner passes that the stuff will be held up in probate so they want the stuff gone so that doesnt happen. What makes me want to cry is this guy was good at racing(judging from the trophies in the shop) and loved what he did, and had. now hes laid up and the people that could care less about the history of this guy is willing to just chunk the lot:mad:

I'm pretty sure that custom/special has a DV32 Stutz engine in it. I could be mistaken but the car is known in the Stutz community.
