Still working on this, posted by accident, will have pictures up shortly I would like to sell a set of four Mopar Accessory "Motor Wheels" chrome 15" Wire wheels, with DPCD marked, knock off style center caps. They are 4.5x5 pattern. Wires are "lip laced" for right backspacing for '50s Plymouths and Dodges, although I have seen them on DeSotos and other '40s-'50s cars. These are in decent shape for a driver, and are mechanically sound, from what I can tell. The DO show some flaws, as they are nearly 70 years old. These came off a car I bought, and they rode well, with no signs of being bent or out of round. I also had the tire shop check them when the pulled the tires off, and they said they looked good and straight. 3 of the 4 have some sort of tight wrapped liner over the spokes. Those three wheels did not have tubes, and held air. They are decently clean inside, with few signs of corrosion. The forth wheel seems to have had a part of an intertube halfway glued down over the spokes. This tire had a tube in it. It has active rust on the spoke ends, and in several places on the inside of the wheel. The bead area is not pitted up, but I would want to clean up, neutralize this, and wrap this one to match the other 3. On the back of one wheel there are 4 damaged spots, looks like where someone tried to grab the very edge with a tire machine. Lug area is in very good shape, I didn't see any egged lug holes or damage. One wheel, on a back edge, has a fairly large rough, flat spot, like it got curbed or rusted bad, BUT it is chromed over. Not sure if it was a flaw in the wheel originally, or if at one point they were re-chromed. See picture. Chrome looks pretty good, but has some flaws. I only gave one wheel a quick clean, but I think with some elbow grease, a toothbrush, rag and chrome polish these will really look nice again. Around the center of the hub, where the hubcaps lock on, there are minor Knicks, scratches and dings. Most of these are covered by the hubcaps. The sides of the hubs are starting to show small age spots, and a few of the spokes are picking up a little rust or thin chrome. I would say 1-3 per wheel. Due to the size of these, I would rather not ship, but can if necessary. Charges will be for actually shipping cost, likely will be 2 packages, around $50-75 ea. I would be happy to deliver these to Carslie, or along the route from VA to there, within reason. I would prefer trades for stuff I need for the car. I am looking for: A set of '50-54 DeSoto or Chrysler steel wheels, 15" or 16" ideally with a set of decent driver quality wide white bias plys. Two Round 4" Edmonds air cleaners, 1 barrel size, reproduction OK. R10g1 overdrive transmission, and bits and pieces. While I have not been a very active user here in the last several years, I sold a reasonable amount of stuff on here with no problems, and have hundreds of transactions with positive feedback on OT forums and eBay. I am happy to provide those via PM. Despite NOT being a scammer, I prefer to avoid PayPal and the like. I am happy to discuss this with anyone via PM. I am a pretty reasonable dude. Post office money orders are fine, as are personal checks, cash in a birthday card or silver at an agreed upon rate. Personally checks will need to clear before I ship. I ship all small stuff, insured, via USPS priority mail, unless you ask me to use an alternative shipping service. I think that covers the business side of things. Message me with any questions!
