Yes,there are Hot Rod Hudsons out there!I have a 1951 Hudson coupe with a 308 twin-H with Nitrous!I started with a1954 Block, put in 2" stainless steel intake valves,1 3/4" exhaust valves, ported the runners, decked and relived the block.I sent a steel 232 head down some Hudson Hot Rodders in California, they flowed it.next were a set of forged nitrous pistons, stock rods were penned, and lined bored, the crank was knife bladed and balanced.I used a 427 Chevy rear main seal for better oil control.I made a Main bearing support,no cap walk for me! Nitrous is hard on the mains! All bolts are ARP's.As for the cam,I used a "Super 7 X"not full race, but you can drive it on the street!Best of all a NOS Nitrous 6 port injectors, under the manifold!I used a set of Clifford headers, that were Jetcoated inside and out. From Clifford I got a Fisher harmonic damper,a electronic distributor. thats just the motor!I have been driving this FUN ,Fast Hudson on the open roads of Montana for the last ten years!Uncle Bill
I was a mechanic on a Race team in the old NASCAR circuit for a '53 Hudson coupe with that engine. This one hauled the mail. It even took the trophy when facing GM, Ford and MOPAR v-8's. It took them all in the corners and it was a real torque monster. He laughed all the way to the n=bank. BUT... pressures from the big three spelled Hudson's demise. Too bad. Those cars were a real highway performer too. This sounds to me like a real fun car to enjoy. Imagine the looks on one of those big timers faces when they look under the hood. No surprise to me. Great engine. Good find and good luck with this gem! Normbc9
