The Motor Tour is not a race, as participants are urged to stop wherever they want, explore, take pictures and enjoy. They will travel New Mexico, from Gallup to Tucumcari, showcasing the Mother Road and the wonderful communities it passes through. The tour begins in Gallup and follows the pre-1937 southern alignment through Los Lunas. Many of the motor tourists travel in a group, stopping now and then to see the sites, but participants are free to stop wherever they want. A turn-by-turn travel guide and schedule are provided. Saturday includes a visit to the Route 66 Auto Museum, the Wheels on 66 Festival, a banquet with awards and raffle prizes and, if youre not too worn out, a concert at Rockabilly on the Route.
