With the monsoon we have been having here the yard is full of mud.
Stepped off the front porch last night and proceeded to break my right leg in 2 places; ankle and the bone above it. In a splint until Monday and then a cast for 6-8 weeks. Doc is hoping I wont need surgery and a pin.

Could have been a lot worse but this is going to screw up a ton of things this season.

    Ohhhh....DAMN that had to hurt!
Really sorry to hear you did that 286! Your a busy guy so being held back is gonna drive you up the wall. I did a lot of reading (which I love to do!)when I had my knee busted up...but it got boring after awhile.
    I feel for ya man...SERIOUSLY!

Maybe you could work on some Flatty tech to post here? Keep your mind from going numb the first couple of weeks or however long it takes to get a walking cast...just a thought!

    Speedy recovery bud!

  5. Best of luck to you.
I broke both legs two years ago and the down time can get to you.
Follow the docs advice and....drink your milk.

Hey, good thing it wasn't your clutch foot...

Eat lots of pineapple... no not cause of THAT, but it promotes bone growth!

    Fix yourself fast, man.

Bad luck, Carl! Sorry to hear it. Probably never broke any bones racing. Life's like that. The most serious injury John Glenn sustained was a severe concussion when he slipped and fell in bathtub, so you're in good company.

Started on my new motor today, finishing the teardown that Rocky started when he harvested the 4-inch crank, all in prep for sending it to the bake-'n'-blast guy. I'll keep you posted -- sort of a virtual build but probably not as you would do it.

    All the best.

DOH! I hate hearing stories like that. I can guess who's gonna be the next HAMBer to reach 10,000 posts. Hope the pain isn't too bad. If it makes ya feel any better, I ruint my left ankle in an accident at work once. They took me to the hospital and the doc said it woulda been better for me if I'd broken it. I really sprained it and tore all the ligaments and cables and **** loose inside. It was my clutch foot and I was driving a 64 'vette at the time with a heavy clutch. Hadda get my stupid step brother to squire me around in my own car! Man, that ****ed big-time!
    Get better.......

Think how much more time you can spend on the HAMB! Rig yourself a little wireless home network so you can have your laptop with you in the lazyboy!! [IMG] [IMG]

Best wishes for a quick & painless recovery!
