I am at a loss on my 65 Falcon 289. I rebuild carburetors for older Fords, and I rebuilt a 4100 for my car. I cannot get it to idle! It will accelerate just fine. Timing has been double checked, could I have the wrong pcv valve on it? If you spray carb cleaner into the carb at idle, you can keep it running. Float has been adjusted, up, down, factory settings, nothing seems to work. Help.
Could be a vacuum leak hiding somewhere. Spray unlit propane along your seals of carbs, hoses and intake.
You either have a vacuum leak or some dirt in the idle circuit. If you find no leaks, you need to pull the carb and really, really clean it. I have taken br*** wire and poked it into every hole in the idle circuit.
