  1. Everyone knows what happened to the city of Suprise and the housing market there. Thousands of houses with a lot of them up for foreclosure. I am confident this is not about a housing tract seeing that sw is further out of town.

Why is the rally at wesley bolin plaza on a saturday when the state capital is closed? Would it not make more sense to show up when the officials are present to see the amount of support in person rather than hoping it will get television coverage and they see it from their living room?

I asked the same question, but the reality is that if we had it during the week the turnout would be less than impressive. I know I would show, but that's about it.

  5. Has anyone notified the news stations of SW future and wrong doings of the county. Might make for some good evening news and a chance for non hamb members to attend the rally

If you don't dig government, either move to your own island nation or do something constructive to shape it the way you want it.

We've been trying that, but it appears the people who count the votes have all the power and shape it however they want. Reference my signature quote.

  9. Need Louvers has it nailed down about local goverment. Trust me he has been involved in the downtown scene before there was one. On a second note why have a protest on saturday against the people who you are fighting against when they are not there. gov't in down is closed on saturday and they will not see or hear the concerns. To me it would be more effective to have ton of race trailers, cars, bikes and so on, say monday or tues morning when they can see the impact and get an idea. I will still try to come by on saturday if I can skate out of work for a few hours.

On a side note Firebird is going to stay open since the tribe has been talking to a management company to run it for them. It will be closed for a little bit to work out the details but it looks good for them.

  10. Exactly the same idea some of us had. A bunch of open headers running outside your office on a Monday would make one hell of a statement, but, the consensus was that any sort of large attendance on a week day would be unlikely.

  11. Bingo

Then you can drive your loud car to work and piss off the boss or maybe get a raise if the boss is a car guy. Or if having a ton of race cars and trailers and other loud cars down at the capitol on monday, they can complain about traffic being tied up and we can say well give us our drag strip back and you would not have all these race cars and trailers in the middle of downtown and at the capitol

  12. Hey Ron, I f I might ask..Who gave you that little bit of info about Firebird? PM me if you want

  13. time to wake up and head out to the Arizona state capital area for Speedworlds sake, for our sake, for everyones sake.
    see you there!

Two news channels there, the most important being FOX. We'll get some air time for sure! I was the dork that got up on stage early and asked about doing some sort of protest on a week day down there. Any body else up for it? I understand work and all that, but we need to do something soon, and I'd like to have performance vehicle in front of EVERY person of power in this government as much as possible!

  18. Okay..pretty much what I know, but was told Thursday that they were putting together a management team...not necessarily hiring one.
That may sound like a minor discrepancy to some...but I believe there is a big difference.

  20. My vehicle is far from "performance", but i would be willing to show up during a weekday gathering

Good work guys. Last year Kansas City International Raceway closed after almost 50 years. Same story -- neighbors who moved into homes near the track started complaining about the noise. Kind of like folks who buy homes near an airport then bitch about planes flying overhead. Go figure.

Naw, this is a different, more insidious kinda deal. This strip is so far out in the boonies that the five or six homes within earshot know waht's up. This is goood old fashioned dirty AZ government "We don't like this so it goes" kinda stuff.

Then it probably has to do with ICLEI (how UN Agenda 21 is being implemented in the USA)... in which case the display of hotrods probably didn't actually help.
