Hot Rods No more Indy Goodguys?

I think some of these venues set a price per event, maybe sign a multi-year contract and then, when they see how well the event does, they want a bigger share when it's time to re-up. So the organizers say adios and either scratch the event or find another venue. I know it's happened to some of our small local shows.
The economic downturn of the past few years may also have allowed promoters to get a better deal and now the venues think everything's back to normal and they are starting to jack the rates back up. Just my .02.

 

I know that the Indy show was moved from the fall to the first weekend in June.
For most of the guys I run with, this is prime time for graduations and weddings. A poor date choice probably didn't help with the attendance...

 

Off track a little... NSRA is moving the October show in Tampa to April in 2016. The weather will be cooler, but the primary reason is that more and more potential attendees are getting siphoned off by shows further north on the same weekend. Are there other events, races, etc. that conflict with GG Indy's show dates? Gary

 

On the GoodGuys forum, they sort of blamed the third party vendor that schedules the event. Don't know what that means. Couldn't agree on a date or price to rent facilities? Heard rumors they might have been trying to go back to IRP (?). Dates did go from June to September then back to June. Can't fool Mother Nature!!

 

I don't like GG anymore!
