As usual, didn't make it to the fairgrounds for the Nats South this weekend, but did enjoy the open house at Barillaros Speed on Saturday night. Did my late night hotel crawl around the Merchants hotels, and didn't see nearly as many cars as in past years. Was attendance that down this year, or were all the cool cats hanging out somewhere else last night? I heard a few harsh comments from the open house crowd about the fairgrounds turnout, but everybody has a different impression, I think. So how was it? Any pics?
I thought the turnout was good, the vendor stalls were a little on the skinny side though, not too many with parts. Did start to take pics then camera went dead. Note to self, make sure battery is charged before leaving the house. Other than that, I had a great time. Lots of odds and ends cars to appreciate, but no '51-'52 Buicks. I must own the only one in the area, and its a basketcase!
The weather was perfect,no rain, were we really in Knoxville,Tenn. We got caught up in the huge traffic parking lot on 40..some idiot shoot at cars from what I was told. At the awards they said the attendance was down a little over one hundred but Saturday looked pretty good. I saw Ben's new ride..didn't have my camera handy so this photo is from his profile. HRP
Yeah, saw that one too. That's one Clean machine! did get a pic or two of that before the camera died. Damn rechargeable batteries!
My friend Al Turner, who is not a Hamber posted some photo's of the Nats South on his Fotki page. All are not Hamb style but at least you can get a idea of whats there. HRP http://public.fotki.com/alzart/kool-kars2014/2014-nsra-southern-/
