I have just finished rewiring my T bucket (SBC) and can't get it to start. Not being electrically savy I need some help, PLEASE! The following are some of the issues I am encountering:

    • With ign. switch in the on position I have power to both the positive and negitive side of the coil.
    • When turning the engine over I am getting no spark from the coil wire to the distributor.
    • I am running a Mallary Uni-lite distributor.
    • I am using a ballast resister and getting power to both sides of the resister as well.
I would welcome any and all suggestions on what the problem might be and how to correct it.

    Thanks,

    grint65

Are you trying to get the spark to jump by holding the coil wire near the engine for a ground or somewhere on the dist cap?

Oh and you'll probably get more help here if you follow the rules and do a proper intro as required. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44274
