I have just finished rewiring my T bucket (SBC) and can't get it to start. Not being electrically savy I need some help, PLEASE! The following are some of the issues I am encountering: With ign. switch in the on position I have power to both the positive and negitive side of the coil. When turning the engine over I am getting no spark from the coil wire to the distributor. I am running a Mallary Uni-lite distributor. I am using a ballast resister and getting power to both sides of the resister as well. I would welcome any and all suggestions on what the problem might be and how to correct it. Thanks, grint65 fletcherjames@yahoo.com
Are you trying to get the spark to jump by holding the coil wire near the engine for a ground or somewhere on the dist cap? Oh and you'll probably get more help here if you follow the rules and do a proper intro as required. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44274
