hey fellas. Finally got to test this 1930 ford pickup on the road today. Running a stock flathead, t5, open drive conversion, 1939 banjo rear. I opened up the banjo a while back and all the inner bearings seemed clean and spun freely. The only bearing I replaced was the front pinion bearing.(closest to drive shaft). I noticed a humming sound today and refrained from driving it more because it was getting worse. Got it towed home removed the open drive conversion kit and all the bearing looked good and everything spun free. No metal in the gear oil I drained. Did I over or under tighten the nuts on the pinion that hold the outer bearing? How do I know how tight or how loose to go? My other question, do I have enough gear oil in the pumpkin to lube everything property. How many quarts should it require ???
