  1. hey yesterday i was looking through the mebers list trying to find someone all i went through were the "K's" and it surprised me at how many have 0 (zero) posts does this effect band width ?
    if if does
how about having some kind of automatic member delete if theres no activity in say a year? or maybe somekind of suspension then if they dont post anything after a little while then they get deleted

i mean i know that seeing that huge number of members is impressive ,but if they arent active what good are they doing
people can lurk here all they like without becoming a member

just something ive been thinking about since yesterday

The huge number of non posting members is enormous,,but they are the ones missing out on all the fun. HRP

i don't think non members have all the priviledges that we do. don't you have to be a member to search? when i'm logged off here at work, i can't view profiles or search.

Numbers my actually help Ryan when it comes to Alliance Vendors which in turn hps us with discounts...

  6. Can't see why it would even bother you about how many don't post.
Not like it's cost you anything.

Bit like a Hot Rod club.
Some do all the work while the rest sit and watch.

I don't believe he said it bothered him. I believe he made an observation and then asked a question about band width and then made a suggetion.:p

I agree. I looked awhile back to see how active the person who has the username I want (Rowdy, same as I have used on Fordbarn for over 10 years) and the guy had not been active in quite some time. I wish there was a way to aquire it. Rod

Well, the administration has already said they don't change your name but nobody is stopping you from opening a new account with the name you want and use quotation marks "Rowdy" or lower case rowdy or all capitals ROWDY,,you will however become a FNG allover again. HRP

    No.

    You cant have multiple Usernames.

Ryan checks for that, and dumps accounts every once in a while.

Dumping all the inactive members would free up a ton of real creative screen names :D

No matter what the forum group is there are many inactive members. The poster wasn't mentioning the nonmember lurkers as some stated. From what I've found with most groups is we can't delete ourselves from them even if we want to. Not sayin it's that way here. Also the more members there are the better it looks for advertisers.
This forum is so large it's always got things being posted and there is no way to get bored. Ryan could delete all but a few threads and many of us would still be happy campers. People become inactive for many reasons, including death, which makes posting difficult.
As for screen names, I wanted Model T. So far haven't gotten it anyplace but I finally figured out how to add just enough to come close.

  16. He never said it in words but by starting this thread it was obvious.:D

I'd say, leave 'em alone,....Some folks enjoy reading our posts, and don't feel a need for "face time"....besides, that "lurker" may one day decide to become an active, participating member .

    HAPPY RODDIN!!!!! 4TTRUK
